IPL had made its name in cricket. But why it is successful. In this post I would write some of the important points which made IPL a successful league.

What is IPL

So first question is what is IPL. IPL stands for Indian Premier league so as the name suggests, it is an Indian league of cricket. It is played by the teams of different Indian business man and stars. Name of teams are named on Indian cities or states. IPL is played in India except in 2020, when it was played in UAE due to covid. You might have heard that cricket is a religion in India, that's true and you could observe its peak point during IPL. Coming to history of IPL, IPL was started in 2008 and now it's 2020 and within these years, IPL had seen exponential growth. The popularity of IPL can be judged on the basis that during such a worst pandemic, IPL is played in UAE rather than India instead of cancellation. Now if we talk about players type so 4 out of 11 players are foreign players while 7 are Indians.

Why IPL is so successful

There are several reasons behind the success of IPL.
1. As I said, cricket is a religion in India so IPL got the most important advantage from this point only.
2. Great source of employment - New players are selected for a good price. Many chai wala and samosa wala install TV at their dhaba and people come and watch IPL there due to which their customers increases. Many shopkeepers sells the IPL jersey. Stadium workers also gets the advantage of IPL. 
3. BCCI gets to know about the stats of more than 100 Indian players which helps them to select some good players for Indian national team due to which Indian team is so powerful. 
4. Indian players get to play and see the playing styles of world famous cricketers such as A B Develliers, Rashid Khan, Steve Smith and many more which helps new Indian cricketers to enhance their playing style.
